Ramblins is the groups e-mail update for members about socials, weekends away, walks and other happenings in the group. Ramblins is sent out around the 1st of every month. You can read it here a week or so after it has been sent out
If you are a member of SWG40s and do not yet receive the Ramblins e-mail please contact us on the group e-mail. The benefit of getting the e-mail is you have advance notice of social events, etc., before they hit the website.

Updates On Our Weekends Away
Socials have always been at the heart of the Sheffield 40's with our Weekends away ever popular. So far this year we’ve been up in the Howgill Fells, back down to Snowdonia and enjoyed another brilliant weekend at the Dent Beer and Music Festival.
A fabulous August Bank Holiday at Clun Shropshire is our next port of call in just a few weeks’ time.
Last year we received requests to have a weekend closer to home in the Peak District. We booked for a weekend at Alstonfield Youth Hostel. Disappointingly, the take up was not as high as anticipated so the committee have decided to now withdraw this weekend from the calendar.
On a more positive note, also suggested were weekends with a more comfortable type of accommodation. We’ve gone ahead with this and booked Stanley House in Eskdale. (See Social pages for details). Most of the rooms were booked on the first day! There are still a few places left though so get texting.
