| Description | A walk around Millstone Edge and the Longshaw Estate. Some ascent, but steep bits are avoided as much as possible. Start ascending Padley Gorge, then up through Bolehill Woods under Lawrence Edge and Bolehill Quarry, avoiding the steep bits. Continue under Millstone Edge and ascend to Over Owler Tor, cross the moors to drop down to near the top of Padley Gorge. Ascend the top of Padley Gorge and cross over to the Longshaw Estate (National Trust) for a Cafe and food stop. Then to the Woodenpole car-park near White Edge and through the Estate woods until above Neither Padley. Drop back down to the Station Carpark and Cafe, steep in places but with steps. |

Whilst you are welcome to join the walk, please let me know if you are not currently a Ramblers member. Your walk leader is getting back into walking after a long lay-off due to illness. So the uphill bits will be taken slowly as I am not fully fit yet! There is usually plenty of free parking on the approach road to the station and Cafe. Well behaved dogs kept on short leads held by considerate owners welcome. Please let me know if you are bringing a dog. There are young animals and birds in the countryside at this time of year.
