| Description | Abney Clough and Offerton Moor returning along river Derwent. Across fields to the bridge at Leadmill. Follow the valley up Highlow Brook to Abney Clough. Ascend to Abney and up to Smelting Hill and across Offerton Moor. Descend (steeply) past Offerton Hall and down to the river Derwent. Follow the river back to Leadmill and Hathersage. Although the walk is short please note there is significant ascent and a steep descent of some length. |

| Additional Information | Well behaved dogs kept on short leads held by considerate owners welcome. Please let me know if you are bringing a dog. There are young animals and birds in the countryside at this time of year. Owners should follow the Law and Countryside code. Toilets and shops at beginning of the walk in Hathersage, but none on the route. Please note that I will not acknowledge or respond to your text unless there is a problem. Please text earlier in the week rather than later to ensure optimum planning by leaders. To ensure the enjoyment of participants, numbers will be limited to c 20. Whilst you are welcome to join the walk, please let me know if you are not currently a Ramblers member. |
