Starting in the car park in Castleton, we make our way through Cave Dale to pick up the Limestone Way. Leaving the Limestone Way we make our way to Sparrowpit and after crossing farmland we reach Rushup Edge and follow the ridgw to Mam Tor. After scaling Mom Tor we descend to Hollins Cross and eventually back to Castleton to enjoy the Christmas Lights and a hostelry of our choice.

Cave Dale can be quite slippery at this time of year, extra care needed please.

Jude will lead a shorter version of the walk for those not wanting to complete the 10.5 miles.

The main Castleton visitor car park is £5 per day or Peak Cavern ('Devil's Arse') is £4 per day but, if you arrive early, alternative cheaper parking is normally available in Castleton.

Sunday 5th Dec. 272 bus departs city centre at 8.12 to arrive hopelessly early in Castleton at 9.02. Lots of time for a relaxing coffee. ( info supplied by L Sharp )
