| Walk Name | Langsett to Midhopestones walk |
| Description | An 8 mile easy/moderate walk from Langsett Reservoir, with a fairly easy ascent onto Mickledon Edge moor, through woodland to Upper Midhope and Midhope reservoir, then to the hamlet of Midhopestones where we can visit the 14th Century church. Dragging ourselves past the Mustard Pot pub we then cross over the Sheffield / Barnsley boundary and we then return to Langsett on the Barnsley Boundary Walk footpath. There are public toilets at the car park, next to the Langsett Barn Ranger Centre and the choice of a pub or cafe at the end. Good views, weather permitting. It is guaranteed to be muddy on some paths and if the weather is awful, there will be several escape routes if we decide to shorten the walk. Some sections are not dog friendly. |
