| Description | A walk from the lovely estate village of Wentworth (which dates from 1066) around the Wentworth estate visiting Elsecar Heritage Centre, Keppel's column with its magnificent views and other follies from the 1700s along the way. We also pass through some lovely bluebell woods. All we need is Spring weather ! Wentworth - Elsecar - Hoober Stand - Never Haugh - Scholes - Wentworth The ground can be rough, muddy or slippery in places, particularly if wet. |

| Start Point Details | Wentworth Garden Centre car park, Hague Lane, Wentworth. From Rotherham direction on B6090 (Cortworth Lane), Hague Lane is on left just before Wentworth village (see Streetmap on printer version). Please park in the limestone bays at the far top right hand side of the car park near where the new entrance is being constructed. Please do not park in the tarmac bays for customers near the Garden Centre entrance. The Garden Centre management has kindly confirmed that the limestone bays can be used for non-customer parking. |

| Additional Information | Please note that I will not acknowledge or respond to your text unless there is a problem. Please text earlier in the week rather than later to ensure optimum planning by leaders. To ensure the enjoyment of participants, numbers will be limited to c 20. Whilst you are welcome to join the walk, please let me know if you are not currently a Ramblers member. Please ensure you are ready booted and equipped to start walking at the specified time. Walk Leaders will not wait. If you are intending catching public transport please let me know. Toilets near beginning of the walk. Refreshments available at the Garden Centre or in Wentworth at the end of the walk. Garden centre is open from 9am - the car park closes at 5.30pm Dogs - Well behaved dogs kept on short fixed leads held by considerate owners welcome. There are young animals and birds in the countryside at this time of year. Owners should follow the Law and Countryside code. Please let me know if you are bringing a dog. |
