| Walk Name | Wortley Spring wander |
| Description | This walk encompasses woodland, rolling countryside and riverside paths. On a clear day we will be rewarded with some superb views both along the Don Valley and also across towards the Humber Estuary. The bluebells should be out in the woods too! After a relatively gentle start following the Trans Pennine trail we then climb towards The Height, before heading back towards Wortley. We then follow the ridge towards Crane Moor and Thurgoland before heading down to the Don. After ascending along Huthwaite Common we then follow a wooded path which climbs above the Don before dropping down to it. Crossing the Don we return to the Car Park. There are steep ascents and descents. The ground can be rough, muddy and slippery in places, particularly if wet. Note: Route may vary depending on weather conditions. Please check message board (http://s40wg.proboards.com/) for any late changes due to conditions. |
