| Description | From Cutthroat Bridge walk up the very rocky road across open moorland to Whistone Lee. Walk across more open moor land passing the Hurkling stones towards the Wheel stones on Derwent edge. Followed by a steady climb to Back tor . On a clear day there are great views across the valleys on both sides to Kinder scout or High Bradfield. Walk across more open more land along Carterledge Edge turning sharply after 2 miles to desend into the valley that is Abbey brook the footpath follows a narrow track along the ridge, more great views into the valley. Don't look down if you don't like heights. Eventually we emerge at the bottom of the valley and take long flat walk along the edge of Derwent reservoir and Ladybower reservoir at Grindle Clough we climb back unto Derwent moor and take the path via the grouse butts back to Cutthroat bridge. |
