| Walk Name | Win and Crook Hills |
| Description | A 9.5 mile moderate walk starting from the entrance to Heatherdene Car Park, opposite Ladybower reservoir on the A6013 Ladybower to Bamford road. This is a walk with good views and varied landscapes - we will walk through woodland to the summit of Win Hill, then over moorland (can be boggy), passing the ancient Hope Cross with views of the Hope and Edale valleys, before descending to the River Ashop. Crossing the busy Snake Pass we have another moderate ascent on to the ridge which eventually leads us to Crook Hill. From Crook Hill there is a fairly steep descent on field paths where we have a short stroll back along the A57 footpath. A short diversion takes us past the Ladybower Inn for refreshments. There are a couple of fairly steep ascents and descents and may be a few boggy paths, and we will be rewarded with spectacular views (on a clear day!). |
