| Description | A festive walk through some classic local countryside around Longshaw and Froggatt, fortifying ourselves as we go on stollen, mince pies and other festive food/drink which you are {optionally} welcome to bring with you (homemade or bought). It is also a chance to wear your festive hats and jumpers (optional). Grindleford station - Yarncliffe Wood - Padley Gorge - Longshaw Lodge - White Edge Moor - Hay Wood - Froggatt Edge - Froggatt - Grindleford - Nether Padley - Grindleford station. A couple of steep ascents and descents but worth it for the views. The ground can be rough, muddy and slippery in places, particularly if wet. Whilst the walk affords fine views, the edges can be exposed so please wear/carry suitable clothing for all conditions. Note: Route may vary depending on weather conditions |
