Description	Out of practice? The first in a series of walks for the New Year doing a little more each week. The route is from The Cross Scythes along Totley Hall Lane to Gillfield Wood, west through the woods above the Totley Brook, cross the main road, pass Totley cricket ground, up Strawberry Lee Lane a little for views, down to Hallfield Farm, Avenue Farm, back to the cricket ground and finish outside The Cross Scythes. No toilets on route, consider buying a tea or coffee in The Cross Scythes which opens at 10:00. Please read the FAQ page 'What to bring?' In summary boots with ankle support and adequate sensible clothing (including waterproofs but not denims), a small rucksack or day pack for carrying food, drink, spare clothing. It is winter also bring gloves, hat and warm layers such as a fleece.

Additional Information	Bank Holiday Monday has a Sunday timetable public transport service, check times on www.travelsouthyorkshire.com. The No. 97 bus should leave Sheffield High St. at 9:50 (arrives 10:25), The No. 218 should leave Sheffield Interchange at 10:30 (arrives 10:56). There are two return buses each hour to Sheffield city center. On street parking is available approximately 300m along Totley Hall Lane, please park considerately.
