Additional Information Most people have never heard of Eldon Hill but the top stands at 470m, which is 8m higher then Win Hill. It is a limestone peak and is at the Northern Edge of the Limestone before the land merges into the Gritstone of the Dark Peak. The Northern side of the hill has been heavily quarryed and is know by some as the biggest eyesore in the Peak District and is very noticeable when looking south from Rushup Edge.

The hill also has the deepest natural pothole in the area just south of the summit and is 55m deep, the route will go past the hole... not down it :-)

There are Public Toilets in Castleton en route, the toilets at the start point are closed at this time of year.

The route can be very muddy if there has been recent rain.

Dogs welcome on short leads please
