Description To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the 1949 National Parks Act a rally is being held in the historic Winnats Pass, scene of the 1932 mass rally, from 2.00-4.00.
Speakers will include: David Blunkett, President, South Yorkshire and North East Derbyshire Area of Ramblers, Sue Hayman, Shadow Environmental Minister, Andrew McCloy, Chair of the Peak Park National Park, Ruth George, MP for the High Peak, Hilary O'Grady, Director General of the National Trust, and Maxine Peake, actress and activist and star of the recent film Peterloo.

To mark the occasion, and to take part in the rally, Sheffield 40's will join Doncaster Ramblers on an 8 mile leisurely walk from Hope and visit the iconic Ward's Piece and the Great Ridge to Mam Tor before descending to Castleton for toilets and lunch. After lunch members can make their own way to the rally, where there will be marquees and a band as well as the speakers. The return walk will follow the path via Goosehill Hall into Castleton and then the path alongside Peakshole Water back to Hope.

Start Point Details Hope Pay and Display car park in centre of Hope on A6187 to Castleton nr pedestrian crossing (cost £5 ish per day). Meet on corner of the car park near toilets.
If you arrive early enough there is usually some free roadside parking available in Hope
