| Walk Name | The Southern Gritstone Edges |
| Description | High level footpaths, stunning views and impressive crags characterise this figure of eight walk along the southern gritstone edges. From Baslow a track leads us steeply uphill to Wellington's Monument on Baslow Edge. We follow the bridle path between Jack Flat and Eaglestone Flat and head north, up to and along White Edge, turning left just before White Edge Moor to descend to the Grouse Inn. After traversing Froggatt, Curbar and Baslow Edges we cross the bridle path between the 'Flats' once more but this time turn south along the much less frequented Gardom's Edge. We finally take in Chatsworth Edge before descending through Chatsworth Park to finish. There are some steep lanes and paths to climb but the effort is well worth it for the amazing views. The ground is mainly rough and rocky and can be muddy and slippery if wet so please ensure you have suitable footwear. |
