| Description | A varied walk with some lovely views on a good day, embracing river, moors and fields and visiting the village of Bradwell for icecream, well dressings and to enjoy its annual carnival parade. We start by crossing the River Noe and heading in the direction of Hathersage before climbing up to Offerton Hall. We then contour around Offerton and Shatton Moors, enjoying the views over the Hope Valley and beyond, to Robin Hood's Cross before decending very steeply at Bradwell Edge to Bradwell. We will spend some time here before returning to the start over the ridge via Shatton'Bamford - Shatton - Offerton Hall - Shatton Moor - Robin Hood's Cross - Bradwell Edge - Bradwell - Shatton - Bamford'. A couple of steep ascents and descents but worth it for the views. Proper footwear is advised as the ground can be rough, muddy and slippery in places, especially if wet. Due to erosion, the descent from Bradwell Edge can be tricky particularly if wet. Whilst the walk affords fine views, the moors can be exposed so please wear/carry suitable clothing for all conditions (even if it is sunny when you leave home!). Note: Route may vary depending on weather conditions. |
