Walk Name High Stones and Pike Lowe from Bolsterstone
Description A circuit of the moors west of Bolsterstone including a yomp up the long ridge that leads all the way from Bolsterstone to the top of Pike Lowe. Continues over the top of Margery Hill and High Stones and returns via Duke's Road and Broomhead Reservoir.

Some of the paths are faint. The walk is quite strenuous and not suitable for Dogs.

Itinerary is Bolsterstone, Heads Lane across Whitwell Moor, Ewden Height, Earnshaw Ridge, Pike Lowe, Margery Hill, High Stones, Wet Stones, Featherbed Moss, Duke's Road, Canyards Hills, Wigtwizzle, Broomhead Reservoir, Bolsterstone.

Additional Information Public transport - bus stop at Coal Pit Lane half a mile from Bolsterstone. There is a link with the Supertram from Middlewood.

There are trig points at Salter Hills and Margery Hill. High Stones (548m) is the highest point on the route.
Two sections of the walk cross the Mortimer Road, which was an ambitious turnpike project to link Grindleford to Penistone but proved too steep for carriages.
There is a pub in Bolsterstone, The Castle Inn, for refreshment after the walk.
