Description We head up from the car park and on to Mam Tor (views) and then head down the ridge to Hollins Cross where we take the path past Mam Farm, along the broken road, on to Knowlegates Farm and then pass by Speedwell Cavern on the path heading towards Castleton. Not long after Speedwell we head up the gorge and on to the top of Long Cliff - this isn't a scramble but you will be using your hands to get up the gorge (short-sharp climb) Please do not let this put you off - the views are fantastic on the top & I've led the group up here for the past two years. We will stop here for coffee & the views (the hidden gem 1 ).

We now head along the top towards Winnats Head Farm & Windy Knoll then cross the road & head up the lane passing Rowter Farm & head for the Limestone Way, crossing Old Moor and heading for hidden gem 2 ( a trig with an 8 seater bench all around it ). Lunch stop & views.

After lunch we head over access land to pick up the path back to the Limestone Way and head back towards Oxlow House/Windy Knoll & back to Mam Nick and our cars.

Start Point Details Mam Nick car park, a couple of miles further on from Castleton if travelling from Sheffield area. NB: Parking is free for National Trust members. Car park charges are £3 for the day, there is alternative free road side parking nearby.

The short ascent up to the top of Winnats Pass is steep. We will take our time.
Coffee stop will be on the top so we can take in the views.
