Walk Name Three Peaks and Three Pubs
Description An urban linear hike taking in 3 peaks and 3 pubs between Sheffield station and Meadowhall Interchange. The route follows the Sheaf and Don before the steep climb up to Parkwood Springs to get great views of Sheffield. We then drop down into mediaeval Pitsmoor for our first refresher at The Bay Horse Inn. We continue the walk through urban parks and ancient woodland before we ascend Wincobank Hill, walk through the Iron Age fort and descend for our second refresher at the Wincobank. With Hill Top in view before us we descend to Blackburn brook to cross the M1 on the Modernist masterpiece of Droppingwell Bridge and ascend through scrubby edgelands to Hill Top and the abandoned trig point on Blackburn Moor before we take our third refresher in the Hilltop Hotel. It's downhill all the way from there over edgelands of capped landfill, past derelict factories and pallet yards to cross the railway line and walk back along the canal to Meadowhall Interchange and catch a train back to Sheffield Station. Final refreshers can be taken at the Sheffield Tap.
