| Description | Walking from Rotherham station we pass by the Minster and Town Hall before we get on to some scrubby land to walk up via a lovely cemetery to Boston Castle with its grand view of the Lower Don Valley and Sheffield. Then we saunter on through Canklow Woods before we descend down across the Bawtry Rd and going under the M1 to walk alongside the River Rother and up into the colliery village of Treeton. The path passes the old church and then drops down with views across the new township of Waverley and the Advanced Manufacturing Park. At the bottom we walk alongside the very pretty Treeton Dyke and its birdlife before we reach Woodhouse Mill and walk to the station to catch a train back to Sheffield and refreshments in the Tap. |
