| Walk Name |
Crookes, Malin Bridge, Stannington circular |
| Description |
Starting at Crookes Cemetery, one of the walk's high points, with beautiful views up the Rivelin Valley we saunter to Bole Hill then descend steeply down through the scrub of deserted allotments, and cemeteries old and new to the Rivelin and along to Malin Bridge. From there we walk through some pretty glades following the Loxley to cross it at an old mill and ascend an old path up to the ridge at Stannington to catch the panoramas of Sheffield and our destination of Crookes from there. The route drops down to cross the Rivelin and then we climb up beside The Hagg and through allotments to Lydgate and back to Crookes Cemetery. If we can get a table then post-ramble refreshments in a local hostelry. Lovely. |
