| Description | We get the bus from Sheffield to Hathersage and walk back. This finishes at the Rising Sun pub on Abbey Lane, very close to the bus stop where we start. We will get the 272 bus out to Hathersage (where these are public loos). The walking route will take us along the river, up to Grindleford, up Padley Gorge and back along the Houndkirk Road to Ringinglow. We will then take the Limb Valley back down the hill to Whirlow and walk through Ecclesall Woods to the Rising Sun. Your bus ticket will be about £3. |

| Start Point Details | The bus stop outside St Luke’s Hospice on Ecclesall Road South. This has been selected as it is close to the finishing point of the Rising Sun pub. We will be getting the 10.09 bus to Hathersage. The bus fare will be £3-4 and you can pay with a card or cash. There are two alternative options to this starting point: There is limited street parking on Abbey Lane (slightly south from the Rising Sun), Little Common Lane and Parkhead Road. Another option is to park at Whirlow (near Whirlow Quarry Gardens) in which case the closest bus stop is opposite a little further SW at SK 3109 8260. The route back will pass Whirlow half a mile before the end). |
