| Description | The walk will be from Bempton to Filey, starting around 11:10. I will be taking the train, which stops at Bempton and returns from Filey. There is a direct train from Sheffield on Saturday 20th June at 08:57, calling at Meadowhall (09:03), arriving at Bempton at 11:10. There is free parking at Meadowhall Travel Interchange. You could drive and park at Bempton or Filey and possibly share the ride. It is It is a short walk (2 miles) from Bempton to Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) using a footpath from the village to the cliffs to avoid the main entrance. There will be Gannets, Kittiwakes, Guillemots, Razorbills and Puffins. The seabirds will be nesting and there should be fledglings. We will spend an hour or two at Bempton Cliffs and have lunch there. There is a cafe doing snacks and sandwiches if you don’t wish to take a packed lunch. After lunch the walk continues along the cliff top coastal path (3 miles) and then drops down to the beach at Speeton Cliffs and continues along the beach (4 miles) to Filey. Low tide is at 3:30 pm and high tide at 9:45 pm. There are cafe and toilets at This walk is not suitable for dogs. |

| Start Point Details | Sheffield Train Station (the Filey train at 08:57 from Platform 5B), stopping at Meadowhall (09:03) and Bempton (11:10). There is parking at Meadowhall train station if you want to join the train there. Arrive early so you are not having to rush for the train. |

| Additional Information | There will be time to view the seabirds at the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs. Binoculars are recommended. The seabirds will be nesting and there may be fledglings. The seabirds will include Gannets, Kittiwakes,Guillemots, Razorbills, Fulmars and Puffins (not so easy to spot as they nest in burrows in the grass banks at the top of the cliffs). Refreshments at Filey at the end of the walk. If you are going by car - there is no parking at Bempton Railway Station and very limited parking on side roads as the roads at Bempton are very narrow. It is about 2 hours from the eastern side of Sheffield (M1) to Filey via the M18, If you are going by train - the cheapest option is an advance open return from Sheffield to Filey. There is free parking at Meadowhall Travel Interchange. I will taking the train at Meadowhall.
