| Description | Starting from the car park, our route takes us through Swinden Plantation, ascending towards Little Moor and Upper Hordron. We then drop down to cross the river before making the climb up to Howden Edge via Near Cat Clough. From the edge, we bear left to Hoar Clough, descending to the River Derwent. A left turn leads us up Lower Clough—passing the shooting cabins—to reach Ronksley Moor, where we turn leftonce more towards Ridge Nether Moor. Our descent brings us to Linch Clough, continuing downhill until we reach the iconic Kings Tree. To complete the walk, we will pick up the Cut Gate path, crossing Mickleden Edge to return to the car park. |

| Start Point Details | Meet at Langsett Barn car park off the A616. Just above the spotty café but on the opposite side of the road. If Langsett Barn car park is full there is a big layby 100m up the road. Parking is free but it can get busy. |

| Additional Information | Part of the walk involve rough walking (across open moorland rather than on established footpaths), thus sturdy boots and gaiters are essential. Please ensure you are fully booted and equipped, ready to start walking by 9:00 am. We will begin promptly at 9:00 am sharp. There will be a walk briefing at 8:57 am. Please note: the walk leader will not wait for late arrivals. Please bring plenty of food and water. Dogs are not permitted on this walk. |
