Route: We head downhill from Eyam to Stoney Middleton then walk along Coombs Dale towards Rowland and Great Longstone. Then it’s back to Eyam via Longstone Moor and Foolow.

This is a walk of ups and downs with one steep ascent in Black Plantation heading up to Longstone Moor.

There’s one long section of walking along a quiet road and we’ll be crossing a couple of very busy roads.

If it’s a clear day, we’ll have panoramic views!

Start Point Location: Car Park: Follow the blue P car park signs to Eyam Parish 'Free' car park on Hawkhill Road just up the hill on right after the Pay and Display car park / toilets on right and the museum on left. Donation box by the gate.

If you need to park in the Pay and Display car park, it’s £2.00 all day.

Head out onto Froggatt Edge, Curbar Edge, Curbar Gap, Baslow Edge, Jack Flat Woods, Gardom’s Edge Woods, Gardom’s Edge (lunch), Wellington’s Monument, Eagle Stone, Curbar Gap, White Edge and back to the Grouse Inn.

Start Point Location: Outside the Grouse. Car parking on verges on A625 near the Grouse Inn
This area quickly becomes full, there is a National Trust car park a few hundred metres up the road.

Route: From Langsett down the old railway line, now the upper don trail, to Underbank reservoir, across the dam and back up the other side to Midhopestones. Then up to Midhope reservoir using an old pack horse route. From Midhope reservoir we finish with a lap of Langsett reservoir via North America.

Start Point Location: Meet at Langsett Barn car park off the A616. Just above the spotty café but on the opposite side of the road.

If Langsett Barn car park is full there is a big layby 100m up the road.

Parking is free but it can get busy.

Route: A nice undulating walk (nothing particularly steep) from Tideswell to Tideslow Rake and Great Hucklow. We head back to Tideswell via Wardlow Mires, Peter’s Stone, Tansley Dale and Litton Edge.

This is a fairly easy walk with some bits of road walking. We’ll be crossing some very busy roads

Start Point Location: Tideswell - Queen St (B6049) by the toilets (opposite Vanilla Kitchen Teashop). It is on the Buxton side of Tideswell.

Route: No real steep ascents.

Heading West out of the car park we take the river path into Middleton by Youlgreave, then head up the main road and take the track (Whitfield Lane) passing Little Rookery Farm. We will have a short coffee stop in Kenslow Knoll and then head for Ringham Low and the main road.
We will be walking along the main road for a short distance till we get to Friden Car Park where we then head along the Pennine Bridleway and head for Pikehall. A very short walk along the main road to get access into Gratton Dale (South) this is the drier dale of the two… .. promise. At the end of the dale we head East along Long Dale and pass the other Gratton Dale
(North) and head up passing Mouldridge Grange and pick up the main road again for a very short section. Then it’s crossing fields all the way into Elton (Lunch).
After Lunch we head down and around Anthony Hill and across fields to Mawstone Farm and back into Youlgreave.

Route: Start at Ashford-in-the-Water we visit the church briefly to see a historic curiosity, then walk out of the top end of the village, proceed across fields, cross the Monsal Trail to reach Great Longstone church to view another historic feature, stopping for coffee break. Then leave the village onto Myers Lane and join the Monsal Trail for a short stretch. We then go right uphill and over to Bakewell, dropping downhill to cross ancient holme bridge, and proceed to the church for the lunch break and opportunity to
visit its fascinating ancient carved crosses. Bear up to St Anselm’s school and drop down through a woodland path, then walk alongside the river on return to Ashford-in-the-Water, with an option to rest and refresh at the Bull’s Head or Aisseford Tea
Room.

Route: The walk will be from Bempton to Filey, starting around 11:10.

I will be taking the train, which stops at Bempton and returns from Filey.

There is a direct train from Sheffield on Saturday 20th June at 08:57, calling at Meadowhall (09:03), arriving at Bempton at 11:10. There is free parking at Meadowhall Travel Interchange.

You could drive and park at Bempton or Filey and possibly share the ride. It is
about 2 hours from the eastern side of Sheffield (M1) to Filey.

It is a short walk (2 miles) from Bempton to Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) using a footpath from the village to the cliffs to avoid the main entrance. There will be Gannets, Kittiwakes, Guillemots, Razorbills and Puffins. The seabirds will be nesting and there should be fledglings. We will spend an hour or two at Bempton Cliffs and have lunch there. There is a cafe doing snacks and sandwiches if you don’t wish to take a packed lunch. After lunch the walk continues along the cliff top coastal path (3 miles) and then drops down to the beach at Speeton Cliffs and continues along the beach (4 miles) to Filey. Low tide is at 3:30 pm and high tide at 9:45 pm. There are cafe and toilets at
Hunmanby Gap. There is plenty of choice for refreshments / Fish and Chips in
Filey before the train home.
There are direct rains back to Sheffield every hour
(e.g. 17:15, 18:15, 19:15 - the return journey is about 2 hours 30 min).

This walk is not suitable for dogs.

Start Point Location: Sheffield Train Station (the Filey train at 08:57 from Platform 5B), stopping at
Meadowhall (09:03) and Bempton (11:10). There is parking at Meadowhall
train station if you want to join the train there.

Arrive early so you are not having to rush for the train.

Notes: There will be time to view the seabirds at the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs.
Binoculars are recommended. The seabirds will be nesting and there may be fledglings. The seabirds will include Gannets, Kittiwakes,Guillemots, Razorbills, Fulmars and Puffins (not so easy to spot as they nest in burrows in the grass banks at the top of the cliffs).
Refreshments at Filey at the end of the walk.

If you are going by car - there is no parking at Bempton Railway Station and very limited parking on side roads as the roads at Bempton are very narrow.
There is more parking on the B1229 half a mile towards Buckton where the road widens. If you are leaving a car at Filey there is a 09:16 train from Filey arriving at Bempton at 09:30 (Please let me know if you are taking this option).

It is about 2 hours from the eastern side of Sheffield (M1) to Filey via the M18,
M62, A614. There are roadworks on the viaduct near Howden. Be aware of
speed cameras at Howden and various points onwards.

If you are going by train - the cheapest option is an advance open return from Sheffield to Filey. There is free parking at Meadowhall Travel Interchange. I will taking the train at Meadowhall.
